Pinnacle
has developed programs to address the needs and educational goals
of students in specific academic fields of study. The following
represents example of these short term specific study courses.
S.S.A.T.
PREP: Students in middle school who are planning on applying
to a private secondary/independent school will usually have to
take the Secondary School Admissions Test or S.S.A.T. in order
for their application to be considered. The
S.S.A.T.
is a multiple-choice test that consists of verbal, quantitative
(math) and reading comprehension sections. Pinnacle provides an
S.S.A.T. preparatory program that exposes students to the material
that they will encounter in the actual test. The course usually
starts in early fall and brings the student up to the S.S.A.T.
administration dates in November and December.
E.L.A. - 3rd - 8TH GRADE
ASSESSMENT: The New York State English/Language Arts Assessment
(E.L.A.), which is usually given in the spring, is a
comprehensive benchmark of a student's skills encompassing
reading, comprehension, writing and critical analysis. This
assessment identifies students who may require additional
remediation. Pinnacle offers an E.L.A. Prep Program that
supplements the instruction offered in the student's classroom.
These prep courses are offered just prior to the administration
of 3rd to 8th grade
assessments.
MATH -
